Cutting-edge quantum hardware from within the UK

Quantum computing

Quantum computers will unlock processing power that dwarfs anything even the most advanced supercomputers can match. This is set to usher in a new era of advanced calculation possibilities, driving advancements across a vast range of industries.

The major barrier to getting there: QPU scalability.

Our QPUs operate faster and at higher temperatures than the aluminium-based devices common in the industry. This means faster processor speeds and reduced cooling requirements, accelerating scaling and the deployment of universally useful quantum computers.

Quantum Sensing

Our sensing technologies provide access to some of the most sensitive magnetometers and photon detectors possible.

Whether its detecting microscopic defects in metal assemblies, or building the infrastructure necessary to support the age of quantum-secure communications, our UK-built quantum sensors are the solution.

Engineering stages

Design

Quantcore’s design engineers turn concepts into working superconducting circuits. Our engineers design and simulate qubits, resonators, and coupling structures, using electromagnetic modelling and CAD tools to optimise device performance.

The design team works closely with our fabrication and measurement engineers, using simulation and experimental data to refine each generation of our quantum processors.

Fabrication

Our fabrication team turn designs into physical quantum devices. Based in the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre, our engineers develop the processes needed to manufacture superconducting circuits with high precision and yields.

The team works across deposition, lithography, dry etch, and process development, continually improving device quality, yield, and scalability.

Measurement

Our measurement engineers bring fabricated devices to life. They operate cryogenic systems and build the measurement infrastructure needed to characterise superconducting quantum devices at millikelvin temperatures.

The complex experimental data generated by the measurement team is central to our development cycle, helping the wider engineering team understand device performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
